MOU SIGNED BETWEEN ITE AND EASTERN HEALTH ALLIANCE – FOR CLINICAL PLACEMENT OF STUDENTS
On 2 Dec 2013, ITE and Eastern Health Alliance signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The duration of this MOU is for a period of three years which ends on 31 Dec 2016.
ITE offers the Nitec in Nursing course through its School of Applied and Health Sciences which require as part of the curriculum of the Course that students spend a period of time at a hospital to obtain an overview of clinical education and exposure in medical institutions.
Eastern Health Alliance operates hospitals and specialty centres in Singapore and is agreeable to assisting ITE in its provision of clinical education and exposure to the students by accommodating Clinical Placement of the students.
The objectives of the MOU are:
- observation of medical, clinical, surgical and therapy procedures;
- practice opportunities for patient management;
- assistance in and performance of procedures appropriate to the students’ level of training; and
- opportunities to assist in carrying out basic procedures on patients under the strict supervision and guidance of qualified clinical educators
The students will perform hands-on procedures on patients according to their level of learning and with the expressed permission and under the supervision of qualified clinical/medical staff.
