MOU SIGNED BETWEEN ITE CE AND MEDIA DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF SINGAPORE (MDA) – COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF MEDIA LITERACY AND CYBER WELLNESS PROGRAMMES

On 2 May 2013, ITE and Media Development Authority of Singapore signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

This three-year MOU aims to develop character and value among youth through cultivating values and online responsibility in the use of the Internet, Mobile Technologies and Digital Media.

ITE and MDA on behalf of Media Literacy Council (MLC) will collaborate in Media Literacy and Cyber Wellness Outreach Programmes and to inculcate socially-responsible online behavior among ITE students.

They will collaborate and jointly introduce a Media Smart Club (MSC), a two-year Student Ambassador Programme, to be rolled out in May 2013, in all ITE Colleges.

MDA will work with ITE to roll out the Media Smart Orientation Programme, as part of ITE’s core Orientation Programme for new students.  Under this programme, ITE commits to provide up to three hours of Media and Digital Literacy session, as part of orientation activities.  MDA will conduct talks and activities to engage ITE’s new intakes on Media and Digital Citizenship issues.
