Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) @ College East is a one-stop enterprise support centre which supports young and budding entrepreneurs. Housed within the 8,000 square feet centre are facilities supporting innovation & entrepreneurial-directed programmes for students, alumni and public members.

Facilities

EDC supports the broad suite of enterprise developmental needs from business ideation to business start-up, including business advisory and mentorship. The facilities include iCreate Studio, Biz Lounge, Co-Working Hub and Enterprise Incubation Centre.

iCreate Studio

The iCreate Studio is fully-equipped with computer workstations and learning resources to support students’ entrepreneurial projects, furthering ITE College East’s 3E entrepreneurship development model – Education, Experimentation, and Enterprise.

Students gain their enterprise foundation through education and experimentation workshops conducted here.

EDC1

Biz Lounge

The Biz Lounge serves as a fully furnished lounge with AV equipment and a pantry. Business networking sessions of up to 25 persons can be hosted comfortably. The cozy atmosphere here encourages formal and informal business discussions.

Co-Working Hub

The Co-Working Hub provides students with hot-desk facilities to experiment on their business ideas and concepts. Budding student entrepreneurs can tap readily into business consultancy and mentorship support from the lecturers in the Entrepreneurship Department.

Enterprise Incubation Centre

The Enterprise Incubation Centre is a business hotbed with 6 fixed office units for business start-ups. In additional to the incubation facilities, business advisory support and resources are provided for prototype development, testing and marketing. By providing an affordable business office space with value-added facilities and services, it is hoped actual operating businesses will create an environment of entrepreneurship that spawns student enterprises or encourage students to experiment with enterprise as a viable option to employment.

Services

Mentoring & Biz Clinic

Lecturers from the Entrepreneurship Department are able to provide business consultancy services that nurture raw business ideas with an acorn to oak tree philosophy.

Biz Clinic offers business consultancy services to ITE students and graduates. Lecturers with the relevant business experience are available to advise students and graduates on the feasibility of their business plans, its development and implementation. Post business set-up advisory services are also available.

Networking

Networking opportunities with relevant entrepreneurs abound either through the Shell LiveWIRE programme or in-house events.

Funding

The ITE Student Enterprise Fund is set up to assist student entrepreneurs to start on their business ideas, while still a student at ITE College East. For eligibility, terms & conditions and application form, please click here to view, download and submit to ce_edc@ite.edu.sg.

EDC also assists students and graduates to secure funding for their business proposals or startups from external sources such as ACE.

Programmes

Incubation Programme

New start-ups created by ITE students, graduates and external parties can apply for incubation at the EDC. The EDC incubation programme acts as the greenhouse that facilitates the tapping of expertise and facilities offered by various faculties within ITE.

The Entrepreneurship Club is a CCA which actively creates entrepreneurial opportunities for students to participate in business competitions, bazaars and overseas learning trips. To join as a member, please click here and submit to ce_edc@ite.edu.sg
