A Teachers’ Conference was held on 29 September 2011 at ITE College East. All ITE staff, including teaching and non-teaching staff, were invited to share on some of the research projects they have worked on to enhance ITE teaching practices.
The theme of the conference was “Realistic Creativity, Creative Reality: Transforming the VTE”.
Two external guest speakers were invited to share their insights. Associate Professor Kirpal Singh from Singapore Management University (SMU) addressed a topic on Creativity & Innovation: What Educators Must Understand. Another guest speaker from the National University of Singapore, Interactive & Digital Media Institute, Professor Ryohei Nakatsu explored the importance and possibilities of injecting Creativity in our Daily Life.
ITE’s very own staff also contributed their two cents worth on the hot topic about creativity. Amongst them, CE staff Kelvin Choo shared on AHS's "Creative Oureach Programmes to Realise Students' Potential" whilst Ng Huey Yun shared on the topic of "Creative Assessment in Nitec in Electronics (Mobile Devices) to Prepare Students to be World-ready". CW team (Ng Chu Kee, Ong Chao Xiang and Toh E Sheng) also shared on staff/students' experience in redesign and modify of 290 card readers for College East.
