Electrical Engineering Final Year Project Presentation 2011

By Mr Yap Him Wah, Senior Lecturer, Electrical Engineering

ITE College East’s Electrical Engineering (EE) Club and the Library@CE jointly organised an exhibition to dispaly the completed work of Electrical Engineering students' final year projects. The exhibition kicked off with visits by various classes and followed by the assessment of 18 projects by our section head, Mr Justin Kong. The event which took place over the two days on 1 and 2 March 2011 involved a total of 100 students. The students took pride in showing off their work to the assessors and visitors during the project exhibition cum exhibition.

Student participants demonstrated their projects to assessors

The exhibition had provided student participants the authentic learning experience as they prepared for the exhibition and carried out many real life and relevant tasks such as planning, presentation and interactivity with fellow students on the projects. Certificates of participation were awarded to all project participants and tokens of recognition were given to the best project team and best presenter.

The students of EE Club involved in organising the event were kept busy over a period of a week prior to the event, making sure that all necessary arrangements such as logistics and event schedule were properly planned and executed. The successful implementation of the exhibition cum assessment proper was grossly due to the hard work of all these student organizers who tirelessly work before, during and after the event, despite having to attend their regular classes.

The event had benefited students in gaining authentic learning experience through the activities as they took on the roles of exhibitors, organisers and other duties in making the exhibition a success.

Our Director for School of Engineering, Mr Kong Chee Seng, was also present to show his strong support for students and staff for the initiated activity beyond classroom learning environment.
