2011 Excellent Service Award (EXSA) Recipients
Launched jointly by SPRING Singapore and seven industry associations, the Excellent Service Award (EXSA) is a national award that recognises individuals who have delivered outstanding service. It seeks to develop service models within organisations for staff to emulate, create service champions and professionalise customer service.

MOU Between ITE And Mitsubishi Electric Asia Pte Ltd (MEAP), 23 November
Signing Of Memorandum Of Understanding Between ITE And Mitsubishi Electric Asia Pte Ltd (MEAP) on 23 November 2011 at College East Conference Room. The MOU signing marks another milestone in our partnership with MEAP to create Authentic Learning and Field Training experiences for ITE students. MEAP is a well-known brand in the world and also one of the market leaders in Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration. Under this new MOU, MEAP is sponsoring equipment and book prizes for students use, and working with ITE in industry training in the Air-Conditioning field. E.g. in Octorber, MEAP and ITE rolled out a Customised Short Course, “City Multi Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Air-Conditioning System Installation & Commissioning”. The response was overwhelming and well received by the public.

Immediately after the signing ceremony, there was a book prize presentation ceremony for 5 outstanding FCT students from the air-conditioning specialization. The students for the September 2011 exam were Gavin Yeong Wei Kiat and MD Khalid B Sulaiman. For the Jun 2011 exam were ,Toh Wei Xian, MD Razif B Ramli and Gardner Augustus Mellan.

The VIP and industry guests were then invited to view the ITE-MEAP lab facilities and witness the judging of students’ skill in preparation for the ASEAN Skill Competition. At the end of the judging, Mr George Peng graciously gave out the prizes donated by MEAP to 3 student winners - They are Fung Wei Sen, Maneck Shah B Mohd Rafid and Liew Wan Hao.

U Submit Champion Award
Our Congratulation to Executive Council of the UITS (Union of ITE Training Staff) for being awarded again the U Submit Champion Award for obtaining the Highest Net Increase in Membership from Jul 2010-Jun 2011 (1000-2999 Members Category).

Poster Presentation for MOH-SNA & 16th Joint Singapore Malaysia Nursing Conference, 22 - 23 September
Our Nursing iDe'Lite Research project was selected for the Poster Presentation for Ministry of Health-Singapore Nurses Association & 16th Joint Singapore Malaysia Nursing Conference, 22 - 23 September 2011. The team also presented the project at 4th Redesigning Pedagogy: Transforming Teaching, Inspiring Learning International Conference, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Jun 2011. Team members are Ms Wu Xi Vivien, Mr Tan Hock Leng Ronnie, Ms Lau Siew Tiang Lydia, Ms Tan-Toh Yen Mei, Ms Christina Lam Mei Kay, Mr Crisencio Tenebroso and Mr Wong Kwok Tong. Team Excellence Symposiumm, 23 - 26 August

ITESC Swimming Meet 2011, 18 - 19 August During the ITESC Swimming Meet from 18 - 19 August, our staff won the 3rd prize for the 4x50m Freestyle Relay category. Click here to read more.

ITE Excel Convention, 10 - 11 August At the ITE Excel Convention from 10-11 Aug 2011, the following teams have done ITE College East proud : School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology- 1 Star, 1 Gold & 2 Silver awards : School of Business & Services- 2 Gold & 3 Silver awards : School of Engineering- 1 Gold & 1 Silver awards : School of Applied & Health Sciences- 1 Silver & 1 Bronze awards.

IEG Bowling 2011, 11 June Ms Emily Foo, Section Head, Facility Technology, winning the top women's score in-game with a very respectable 186 points! Click here to read more.

Excellence Award for the People's Association Community Spirit (PACS) Awards 2011, 8 June On 8 Jun 2011, ITE College East was presented the Excellence Award for the People's Association Community Spirit (PACS) Awards 2011. NTUC 50 Model Partnership Awards (Institutional Category), 21 May ITE College East will be receiving the NTUC 50 Model Partnership Awards (Institutional Category) on 21 May 2011 in recognition of College East as a partner in providing training to workers. This award was also given to recognise organisations which worked with partners to hire vulnerable workers, redesign jobs or employ better methods to raise productivity, share productivity gains with workers and help to create a more inclusive workforce.

ActionScript Awards (Open Category), 7 January On 7 Jan 2011, Mr Martin Leong (LT/LT/INFO-T) was awarded the 1st Prize at the ActionScript Awards (Open Category) - jointly organized by IDA, Adobe Systems and Republic Polytechnic. With his expertise in media design and development, he innovate 'Gobble Gobble CO2', an online game to help spread awareness on the pertinent issues of Global Warming and Climate Change.

Partnership with Singapore Business Federation Since 2009, ITE has partnered with Singapore Business Federation in administering the inaugural Singapore Sustainability Awards. ITE's contribution as a Strategic Partner for the Green IT Awards has ensured that the Awards has been successful in encouraging IT firms in Singapore to adopt sustainable IT practices and holistic, innovative and impactful green business solutions.
