Counselling

We have a group of professional counsellors stationed at the ‘WeCare’ Centre to provide counselling services to students. The ‘WeCare’ Centre, located at ITE College East, Adminstration Block, Level 2, provides the following services:
Face-to-Face Counselling: The counsellors conduct individual sessions for students seeking confidential assistance on personal and emotional issues.
Group Counselling: The counsellors conduct sessions with a group of students who experiences common issues.
Enrichment and Motivational Programmes: ‘WeCare’ Centre also conducts workshops and talks on topics such as Effective Study Skills, Understanding Human Sexuality, Peak Performance and Smoking Cessation.
Adventure-based Counselling Programmes: These programmes help students to develop important life skills through participation of outdoor activities.
Crisis Intervention: The counsellors provide psychological first-aid to students who encounter crisis situations.
‘Dear Counsellor’: Students can post their personal issues on the ‘Dear Counsellor’ column (Dear_Counsellor_CE@ite.edu.sg) and receive on-line help from the counsellors. Students can choose to remain anonymous.
Counselling is a helping relationship. The counsellor gets to know the students, listens to their concerns and works with them to manage their concerns. After counselling, they will understand themselves better and will be more able to cope with life’s issues.
What the students share in the counselling sessions is confidential. No information will be shared without their permission.
