Face-to-Face Counselling: The counsellors conduct individual sessions for students seeking confidential assistance on personal and emotional issues.
Groupwork: The counsellors organise sessions with groups of students who need help in common school issues.
Enrichment and Motivational Programmes: ‘WeCare’ Centre also conducts workshops and talks on topics such as Stress Management, Building Self-Confidence, Relationship Bonding and Motivation.
Crisis Intervention: The counsellors provide psychological first-aid to students who encounter crisis situations.
‘Dear Counsellor’: Students can post their personal issues on the ‘Dear Counsellor’ column (Dear_Counsellor_CE@ite.edu.sg) and receive on-line help from the counsellors. Students can choose to remain anonymous.
Facebook: You can find daily posts on how to cope with life’s stressors at the WeCare Facebook page.
Chill-Out Room: For students who would like a space to hang out with their friends and talk, the Chill-Out Room is located outside the Libray. Care Connection Club members will also be there to lend a listening ear.
Counselling is a helping relationship. The counsellor gets to know the students, listens to their concerns and works with them to manage their concerns. After counselling, they will understand themselves better and will be more able to cope with life’s issues.
What the students share in the counselling sessions is confidential. No information will be shared without their permission.
