Students must observe all the rules and regulations listed below as well as any others that may be announced from time to time.

Conduct
  • Be honest, courteous and well-behaved at all times.

  • Follow all instructions given by the teaching staff. Students should consult their Class Advisor, Section Head, Course Managers if they have problem or are in doubt.

  • Take pride in and carry out conscientiously all work and assignments.

  • Consume all food and drinks within the cafeteria only. Return all utensils to the respective receptacles provided. Food wrappers, disposable cups and plates should be thrown into the dustbins.

  • Observe all safety rules.

  • All pagers and handphones must be switched to the silent mode during training sessions.

  • Students are required to notify the College of any change in their addresses or personal particulars.


 Attendance

  • Attendance is compulsory at lessons, labs, workshops, sports & wellness and official College functions.

  • Maintain a minimum attendance of 95% for all lessons. Attendance of less than 95% would result in debarment from sitting the Semestral Examinations.

  • Be punctual for all lessons and official College functions.

  • Absence from lessons or official College functions must be accompanied by a medical leave or prior leave approval granted by teaching staff concerned.

  • Leaving the College during training hours can only be granted with an official leave form signed by the Class Advisor, or a teaching staff teaching that lesson.


Personal Appearance

  • Smoking is strictly prohibited within and outside the College.
  • While in the College or at official functions outside the campus, students must be neatly and appropriately dressed in the College uniforms.

  • Caps are not to be worn in the college at all times except for female students during workshop practice.

  • Students must wear dark coloured shoes (black, blue, grey or brown) with their uniforms while in the College.  No sandals or slippers are allowed.

  • Male students must not sport long hair (long hair refers to hair touching the eye-brows or covering the ears or touching the collars). They should be clean-shaven.

  • Female students with long hair must keep their hair neat.

  • Male students must not wear earrings or ear-studs in the College. This also applies when they are in uniform outside the College. Female students are allowed to wear one pair of simple ear-studs or earrings in the College as well as outside the College whilst in their uniforms.


 College Property

  • Students are not to use lockers that are not assigned to them. The College Management has the right to cut away the padlock belonging to the unauthorised users.

  • Students are to refrain from moving any property belonging to the College unless authorised.

  • Students must exercise care when using College property. Any loss or damage to property belonging to the College must be reported to the teaching staff or Section Head. Students who lose or damage College property may be asked to make compensation.

  • Students are to return to the CVC any article found in the College premises.

  • Students are to ensure that all classrooms, workplace and surroundings are kept clean and free of litter.

  • Students should not waste water and electricity. All air-conditioners, fans and lights should be switched off after use.

  • Students should always keep the toilets clean and flush after use. Smoking in toilets is strictly prohibited.

  • Cigarettes will be confiscated.
     

  • Students will be punished with manual work (CWO) :
    - 1st offence – 3 hours  CWO;
    - 2nd & subsequent offence – 6  hours CWO for every subsequent offence
     

  • Students will be referred to the relevant authorities for follow-up under the law.
     

  • - For students below 18 years old, refer to Health Sciences Authority (HSA) for further actions;
     
    - For students above 18 years old, refer to National Environment Agency (NEA) for further actions;
     
  • Students will be counselled by their lecturers and required to attend smoking cessation programme.
     

  • Students to give undertaking that they will not smoke again.
     

  • Parents will be informed.
     

  • Students caught will be referred to the relevant enforcement agency for further actions.

Littering

Improper attire

  • not wearing dark coloured shoes

  • not in proper uniform

  • without lanyard

  • wearing PE attire when not having PE or Practical lessons

  • wearing caps or hats

Ear rings/studs

  • not allowed for male students

  • only one pair is allowed for female students

Rowdy behaviour

 

 

 

 

 

 
  • Students will have their names taken.
     

  • 3rd time offenders will be made to perform corrective work in the campus.
     

  • Students will be counselled by their lecturers.
     

  • Ear rings/studs/caps from students will be confiscated.
     

  •  Parents will be informed.

  
Wear your lanyard the right way

 

Wearing long/Coloured hair  
  • Students will be given two days to correct their hairstyle.  Thereafter, they will only be allowed to attend classes after corrective actions have been taken.
     

  • Repeat offenders will be asked to leave the college immediately and allowed to return only after corrective actions have been taken. 

Absenteeism without valid reasons  
  • Students may be debarred from exams.
     

  • Students will be counselled by their lecturers.
     

  • Parents will be informed.

Showing disrespect and disobedience to College staff  
  • Students will be referred to their respective School Disciplinary Committee and if necessary, to the College Disciplinary Committee for follow up.
     

  • Students will be counselled by their lecturers.
     

  • Parents will be informed.

Cheating or dishonesty in exams  
  • Students will be referred to the College Academic Committee for follow up.
     

  •  Students will be counselled by their lecturers.
     

  •  Parents will be informed.

Fighting

Vandalism

Possession of offensive weapons

Possession and/or consumption of drugs or alcoholic drinks or intoxicating substances

Immoral or indecent behaviour eg. distributing and showing vulgar and pornographic materials.
 

 
  • Students will be referred to the College Disciplinary Committee for follow up, and may be dismissed depending on the seriousness of the offences committed.
     

  • Serious cases will be further referred to the Police.
     

  • Students will be counselled by their lecturers.
     

  • Parents will be informed.

Forging of documents or possession of forged documents eg. altering or tempering medical certificates. 

Unauthorised use or illegal copying of materials protected under copyright, including print and/or non-print materials and computer software

Disclosure of computer password to others

Any other act, conduct or neglect which is prejudicial to good order or discipline in the College or is likely to bring ITE or its Colleges into disrepute eg. gambling, stealing or arson.

 

 
  • Students will be referred to the College Disciplinary Committee for follow up, and may be dismissed depending on the seriousness of the offences committed.
     

  • Serious cases will be further referred to the Police.
     

  • Students will be counselled by their lecturers.
     

  • Parents will be informed.
