Code Immersion Day @ ITE College East, 15 August 2017

By Mr Amos Lim, Senior Lecturer, EBusiness Programming, School of Electronics and Info-Comm Technology

Code Immersion Day is organized by School of Electronics and Info-Comm Technology, ITE College East (SEIT/CE). The event aims to provide participants with career insights of the Info-comm and Technology sectors. The multi-track event includes hands-on activities such as coding workshops, as well as an industry-sharing seminar.

It was a great turn out at this year’s event, which drew more than 120 participants across ITE and MOE schools. At the hands-on workshop, secondary school students were introduced to coding Micro:bit controllers, where they created dynamic digital displays on these Internet of Things(IoT) devices. And, at the seminar, participants were treated to a host of guest speakers, including those from IMDA, Accenture and valued partners of ITE. Audience at the seminar received valuable insights shared by the speakers, where topics include the on-going excitement and various opportunities present in today’s IT industry. Former ITE graduates were also in attendance to share their rewarding journeys, success stories and career pursuits to our ITE students.

The organizing team looks forward to hosting the next Code Immersion Day in 2018!
