By Ms Lim Lay Cheng, Head, School Networking, Customer Relations, College Services Division
In celebration of ITE’s 25th Anniversary, a series of events and activities were organised from April to October 2017 to commemorate 25 years of Inspiration, Transformation and Excellence in Technical Education.
These included Plank Art @ CE, which broke the Singapore Book of Records (SBOR) for “Largest Montage of Wooden Plank Paintings”, the ITE College East Blood Donation Drive which collected more than 25,000 ml of blood, and the Hands to Hearts Project which involved staff sewing 250 handcrafted activity pillows to benefit elderly sufferers of / those stricken with Alzheimer’s Disease.
On 8 August 2017, the eve of Singapore’s 52nd birthday, staff and students of ITE College East celebrated ITE’s 25th Anniversary by completing a 25-round CE Jubilee run/jog/walk relay at the College’s Sports Stadium. The event was flagged off by Dr Yek, Principal, ITE College East. It was quite a sight to see participants carrying College and School flags, and passing the flags like batons, as they ran 25 rounds around the Stadium. For those who missed the event, you can catch the action here.
