Welcome to ITE College East (CE) – the first comprehensive education complex to be built under the “One ITE System, Three Colleges” Governance and Educational Model.
This regional campus in the East opened its doors to students on 3 January 2005, and was officially opened by the Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr. Lee Hsien Loong, on 24 March 2006.
Our campus, which currently houses some 8,300 full-time students and 680 staff, boasts a sheltered amphitheatre, a 980-seat auditorium, an indoor sports hall, a soccer field and sports stadium, as well as various retail outlets, cafeterias and many other facilities. To ensure that we remain relevant and responsive to the needs of our students, the campus is currently being upgraded to create more space and facilities to support a fun and vibrant learning environment for our students.
In his speech during our College’s Official Opening Ceremony, Prime Minister Lee said, “ITE has much to be proud of. You have a proven brand of vocation and technical education, and a reputation for excellence that has spread beyond our shores”. This accolade and other endorsements from local and overseas industry partners, vocational and technical education administrators and community leaders validate ITE’s educational approach.
On the educational front, CE offers a total of 40 courses under our four schools, namely School of Applied & Health Sciences, School of Business & Services, School of Electronics & Info-comm Technology and School of Engineering. All of our courses equip our students with highly industry-relevant skills and knowledge, to prepare them for a global economy.
In line with our vision to be “A College of Enterprise and Innovation”, we continually strive to be an education hub that meets the learning needs of our students, staff, industry and community. Our various Centres of Technology and Industrial Partnership Centres were set up with industry partners, not just to ensure that our students receive industry-relevant training in an authentic learning environment that simulates workplace technology, but also to nurture the innovative and enterprising spirit in them.
On the heartware aspect, CCA clubs and recreational facilities such as the Performing Arts Centre (PAC), Student Development Centre, Student Activity Centre (SAC), Multi-purpose Sports Hall, Sports Field and Adventure Park also ensure that students are given the opportunity for personal and character development. The vibrant campus environment at ITE College East is well equipped to provide students with a holistic learning experience.
Part of our training would also require our students to go on industry immersion programmes with our industry partners, so as to better prepare them for the working world. Another hallmark of our education is our Global Education Programme (GEP), where we provide the opportunity for our students to go overseas through a variety of learning platforms such as study visits, community service projects, internships, or even competitions.
CE has come a long way since we opened our doors to the first batch of students in 2005. We are proud to have transformed many young lives and received many local and overseas accolades.
I invite you to explore the College’s website and discover how we are always striving to be a step ahead of the pack in our quest to excel globally with new initiatives in education, innovation and enterprise. Do contact us or visit us if you have further queries.
